tooth decay prevention foods?

Arden Strachn: nuts, cheese, and all sugar free food.sugar free gum is very good for teeth and gingiva..

Hong Hunkin: avoid ketchup - that contains an ingerdiant that satins teethjust avoid drinks such as - fizzy drinks, juices............ bread, some crisps...................

Serita Hefferon: No food will actively make your teeth less likely to decay (other than consuming fluoride while the teeth are still forming or using a flouride mouthwash).Foods to avoid eating too frequently are sugary (sweets, cola etc) and acidic (fruits, coffee etc). That's not to say you must cut them out entirely, indeed fruits are very good for the rest of your body. Just try to eat these foods at meal times rather than snacking continually....Show more

Inge Mclaurine: I doubt it. Just stay away from sugary foods and drinks. Also, brush, floss and use mouthwash 2-3 times a day, especially after eating.

Barton Sease: basically junk

Carlee Tangaro: Avoid acidic o! r acid causing foods (soda, sugars, fats, etc) and eat more alkaline foods (green veggies, tomato, fruits, etc.....tooth paste is also very alkaline, this is the main reason it works in preventing cavities; not because it contains fluoride, although it helps). Eating more alkaline foods neutralizes (turns them to salt and water) some of the acids caused by the bacteria that break down the sugar in your mouth into harmful acids that cause tooth decay. Also, adjusting the pH of your body closer to neutrality can help by making your body less friendly for bacteria and disease (cancer and some bacteria thrives in people with a body pH that leans toward acidity)Check out the link for a better explanation and list of foods....Show more
