Are video games too violent?

Von Houskeeper: The Illuminati were a Bavarian political action group that advocated the overthrow of European monarchies. They ceased to exist 227 years ago.

Kip Ockenfels: no life is too violent

Hilma Pestano: depends on which games you play....WII is a more family based console........ps3 and xbox360 are the ones that parents should watch close.......Society somehow shifted the power in home and you see more and more kids dominating the parents., thats why you usually see children playing violent games even if the mom doesnt like it...its simple really , dont but it and thats it.....

Jonathan Schlussel: Like the definitions tell us, any group which considers itself "enlightened" could rightfully call themselves the Illuminati. This is also the case! If you google "The Illuminati", you will find quite a few groups claiming this name. It can be confusing, so before we continue, I want to make very clear that the Illuminati we are discussing here is NOT! a benevolent secret society who wants to bring peace and harmony to this world by helping to bring back freedom to the people. I know such a benevolent group exists and also happens to call itself "The Illuminati", so I apologize if some people will mix up the different groups. The Illuminati I am exposing here is the super-rich Power Elite with an ambition to create a slave society! The Illuminati are the top players on the International playground, basically belonging to the thirteen of the wealthiest families in the world, and they are the men who really rule the world from behind the scenes (yes, they are mostly men, with a few exceptions). They are the REAL Decision Makers, who make up the rules for presidents and governments to follow, and they are often held from public scrutiny, as their action can't stand scrutiny. They are connected by bloodlines going back thousands and thousands of years in time, and they are very careful keeping those bloodlines as pure as poss! ible from generation to generation. The only way to do so is b! y interbreeding. That is why you so often see royalties marry royalties, for example. Their parents decide whom their children should marry.Their power lies in the occult, (magic rituals) and in economy - money creates power. The Illuminati own all the International banks, the oil-businesses, the most powerful businesses of industry and trade, they infiltrate politics and education and they own most governments - or at the very least control them. They even own Hollywood and the Music Industry.A good example is the American election for presidency. It is no secret that the candidate who gets the most sponsorship in form of money and positive Media coverage wins the election, as this gives the power to "un-create" the opposed candidate and effectively promote the candidate who will follow the plans of the Illuminati. Media, knowing how to manipulate ignorant people, can easily steer an election in a desired direction so the candidate that's been selected by the Illuminati wi! ns. More often than not, it is the candidate with the 'purest bloodline' and who is the most corrupt that will be chosen for the job. The Illuminati put in top positions people who they know have a dark past, so they can be easily controlled. If these appointed people, who are promised fame and fortune if they follow the rules, are breaking the same rules, the Puppet Masters can easily get them back in line by threatening to put their dirty laundry out to dry in public. If that doesn't help, the person will end up like John F. Kennedy and others....Show more

Frances Macky: Nope, I always feel like pushing people into oncoming trains while in the subway. Or down large flights of stairs

Season Confalone: If you have so many issues with women, then why don't you date men?

Azzie Trembly: I expect that from EVERYONE! I sent my brother-in-law to the store for ONE thing, I wrote that thing down, he got the wrong stuff! However I got a great dent story for you, I! sent my ex-wife to pick up pizza's for the youth group meeting we were! having. When she comes back she tells me this incredible story of how she tried to pull into a space that was to small , so she parked elsewhere , well lo and behold when she comes out of the pizza joint someone else had pulled in that tight spot , messed the guy's car all up, had left the scene and the cops were there. What a coincidence!! I later found out from another one of our workers that she killed the guy's car and ran!! So look out if you see a brown Buick coming!...Show more

King Bringle: some woman get it right, just next time go get it yourself and dont let her drive your car alone

Anibal Scheid: It's basically people who believe in things like God and Hell and all that jazz, they think that the Devil basically gave certain celebrities fame in turn for their souls. The little triangle sign with hands is a sign, along with things like horns, the number six, etc. they think Jay Z Kanye West Lady Gaga, etc. are members. They think Lady Gaga's video for! Bad Romance has a lot of signs, the horns, the number six. That is also why some people think it has so many views.

Serita Hefferon: They can be but a lot of studies show they can make you less violent

Isaias Badgley: This goes for both sexes: When sending out your significant other to buy something you need (and it needs to be a specific brand, etc.) write down as much information you can give them like color, size, what is it used for, (even what aisle it's in) ... pictures are better. They are not trying to deliberately mess up, they probably just don't buy it for you often or haven't bought it for you before.Always make your shopping lists idiot-proof and there will be no wrong brands being brought home. About that dent in your car .... well, it could have happened to anyone, that's why they call them "accidents"....Show more

Gus Leiby: video games in undemanding terms impact people in considered one of those trend in the event that they are liable! to advice. they do no longer make violent people. Violent people take ! place to play videogames, yet that does no longer advise videogames brought about it. in terms of young ones, mothers and dads could take duty. that's the mothers and dads objective to develop their infants and to assist progression. If mothers and dads can not or do no longer instruct their infants the adaptation between myth and fact, they are doin a tremendously sloppy activity. although, infants imitate what they see, in spite of no count if or no longer they completely know it or no longer, and a few infants carry videogame studies with them. mothers and dads could instruct infants what's suited behaviour, in the event that they can not, they are at fault extra advantageous than the rest...Show more

Luke Gacusan: Everyone keeps talking about it and I don't understand it! Why is it so bad? How is Jay-Z "the king"? How is it represented in music?

Lucien Hellerman: It's not a question of violence, it's a conflict of differentiating reality from fantasy. Viole! nt video game need not to be played by children who can't tell the difference. If I'm not mistaken, all video games ar rated according to their content. However, it's only a good system if the parents, retailers, and game manufacturers use it. Nice example.....My wife's nephew is only seven years old and for his B-day he asked for a video game for his PS3. When my wife asked him what game he wanted he replied by telling her, "Any game as long as it's rated "M" (Mature)." He's seven....he can't drive, he can't go shopping alone, he doesn't work, can't buy online......he must go through an adult to receive these games.....and he gets them!! Why? Because some parents are too worried of not being their child's friend then being a parent. Years back I worked in the video game section of Wal-Mart and I would not sell any "M" rated game to anybody not old enough. Kids would get ticked! I would tell them to come back with an adult guardian and while most of them never did! , a few of them came back. I would tell the adult the reasoning behind! my refusal to sell them the game and as if I was talking a language they didn't understand they'd hand over their money with this blank look on their face and buy their 5 year old a game that was solely intended for adults. Make the most violent bloodiest goriest video game you can because the game isn't the problem.......the parents who buy these "M" games for their young children is. "I'm playing this new video game where you take care of all the people who get shot in all the other video games. It's called "Really Busy Hospital"Demetri Martin...Show more

Emile Okafor: No, video games are not violent at all. There are number of video games such as adventures video game, funny video games etc. You can play anyone of them.

Ileen Oshell: The question you asked is very hard to answer. Whether is a video-game too violet is subjective. However, is this a video-game you would want to play in front of your classmates? If you answer yes, the video-game may be too v! iolet.

Stevie Goldey: no, some women get it right. lol I sent my honey to get me some panyhose and he got the wrong size, even though i wrote it on his wrist!

Lucille Saetteurn: Yes, video games are too violent, they give kids the impression that it is okay to do things like they see on them. The only way to keep kids from playing them is to monitor what they buy, and with whom they play.

Providencia Serpe: there are many that are much too violent.there are some homever, that are not, the wii games based on exercise and sports games are great, and also some that have to do with brain puzzles, diving, dancing, learning, pets.very positive and fun.I think the positive ones are fine for kids to play. there is a rating system I beleive, but I don't know how successful it is from keeping violent games away from kids....Show more

Justin Casten: Well, video games have ratings for a reason and parents need to use common sense and use the ratings. You should! n't let a 10 yr old play M games. Violent video games can make kids mor! e aggressive, but imo never enough to make them very violent kids. I think no more than kicking and roughhousing with their friends. Now, if they played it hours on end every day in a dark room it might brain wash them, but I'm not sure (and that would be very bad parenting). Anyway, I think an hour a day max on video games (of any kind) is enough. If parents let kids play a violent video game then they need to tell them we don't do this in the real world. Most kids are smart enough to know that.I don't think violent video games have caused drastic events, like school shootings. I think those are caused by severe bullying by classmates....Show more

Willis Liburd: You are so right, fighting during school time would get you into the principles office quick enough.I being of asian ancestory, was called names all the time. I am a very paitent person, so I never rose to the occassion, just ignored them. One day after school, while going home, I was accosted by the same bun! ch of girls in the school yard. They stared swearing and calling me all sorts of names (As I was new, I hardly even knew the swearing words, so it rolled off by back), but then suddenly, the head girl, gave me a push and I fell on the wet ground. My father always told me, ignore the ignorants when they open their ignorant mouths, as they don't know what they are saying, as they are to stupid to even understand it's wrong. But don't you ever let them push you or hit you, just break the nose of the leader of the pack and rest will fall. I did just that, made a fist (I didn't knew I could hit so hard, I nearly fractured my kuckles), and hit her in the nose. She fell and bled, thankfully her nose was ok. Teacher did come to comment and to separete us, but there was no need. Everyone who withnessed it, said it was not MY fault, I was pushed in a cornor. That girl never bothered me again, nor did her buddies. Standup to injustice, or you'll never get up your life....Show! more

Mauro Cowee: When you were in elementary school, did you of! ten see kids beating each other up after school? If so, how did your school deal with it? Did they ignore it since school was being let out or did the kids actually get into trouble? When I was a kid, schoolyard fights went on about once a week but that was because the kids knew that they could get away with it. How was it in your school days?

Bob Nakamoto: It was always after school. During school hours would definitely mean trouble.

May Stands: Yep and isn't it just like a man to let his wife do crazy things like that?Next time tell her to stay in the kitchen(just joking about the kitchen part)...Show more

Zora Mazzie: Are video games too violent? - Not at all.Do they make kids more violent? - Unless it's a psycho kid that is prone to violence, no.What could we do...? - Maybe take responsibility as parents/family/society or tell me why 13 year olds play M rated games?

Tyree Allenbrand: I sent my wife out to to the store buy shaving cream! . Not only did she get the wrong brand but she put a nice dent in my car! Isn't this just what you'd expect from a woman??

Sharee Doak: why didn't you just get it yourself? (if you had such little faith in her)

Janean Guz: yes adn a huge waste of $$....use board games with real ppl

Arleen Bussing: our school fights were always random, unplanned and took place in locker banks like a steel cage match...we would climb atop the banks and watch them....good times!

Leora Klingelhoets: i dont remember any fights from elementart. the 1s from middle & high school, first the school would suspend them (both sides) for 3-5 days. then the fights became more violent. guns, knives, household products & ppl getting jumped the school started to expel them & press charges on them. most of them would just get fined

Rosalva Steinmann: No they aren't "too" violent. Even if there is violence in them, they are rated so only a certain age can buy them.Just like scar! y movies or movies with gore.If you want your kids to not play them, be! a better parent. It's not that hard to not buy them something. Video games are carefully rated, the only reason a child can get is if:1. Their parent buys them it (Which is the most common)2. They steal it.3. They borrow it from a friend who has it by (refer to 1 or 2)If you are a good parent, you wouldn't buy it for your child if you think it could harm them mentally. If you are a good parent, you wouldn't have raised your kid to do such things as stealing. If you are a good parent, you have a clue of what your kids do in their free time.. Basically if you raise your kid halfway-decently, your kid will be fine....Show more

Carter Edstrom: I don't think volence has any impact on the gameplay quality. If by violence you mean the gore, then yes sometimes it can be a little gratuitious, but in many games this isn't the case.Well... unless you're playing team-based multiplay and you manage to take down their entire team in one room and there are blood-splatters all over the! place like some kind of macabre carvery.Anyway, that said, i don't think videogames are any worse than other elements of media, like films or art....Show more

Lauri Ohl: Aww, come on! Shaving cream is shaving cream. Razors are a different story, but don't worry about the cream! And cut her some slack with the car. She was out trying to get something for you!

Marco Stolarz: just google it there is too much to explain

Trena Berum: I think that they are because now the graphs are so good that it looks real. Plus there is blood in some of the FPS

Ayesha Genova: for sure thats just like us women ....waiting on some man so he can come home from work and sit on his dead butt and tell us what he wants us to run out and get for him then yell about it....buy it yourself....don't you know how to drive? and it was your shaving cream.....for me it would be the last time I shopped for you but thank goodness I have a better half that I love getting things for
