Robbie Starchman: I don't know for sure if you can get credits for economics and government when you study abroad, but if you can't you can always take a two week summer school class if time permits before you leave for Mexico. I am in high school in Texas too, and the one I wanted to do was for Spain, but it doesn't look like it's way too expensive. I think it's right around the area of $5,000. It shouldn't be too expensive for Mexico and Mexico's a fun place.
Alden Sabio: I studied abroad in the fall of my senior year in college. I went to job fairs when I came back, but the timing only matters if they hire on a time based system... (i.e. teachers are typically hired in the summer before the school year begins.) Honestly, studying abroad was a great experience but it didn't help me get a job, and neither did any career fairs. You are in line with 1200 of your fiercest competitors, trying to set yourself apart. Unless you are in the top 2% of your class, you look a! nd sound just like everyone else....Show more
