Financial Aid / Is it too late?

Maryland Gareau: This will completely be the school's decision. My school would let you, without making a student pay up front; however, not all schools will do this. Many require that your financial aid be cleared before you can register for classes, or you will have to pay up front for the semester (and then be reimbursed when financial aid comes through). You can still apply for financial aid and attend this semester, but you may be required to pay for the coursework until your financial aid comes in. I would call the school and request to speak to the financial aid office....Show more

Lynn Mctier: No, it is not too late. Problem is, you will have to pay the tuition out of your own pocket and then expect to get reimbursed a few weeks later. If that is not a problem, then go ahead and apply.

Marya Fehn: It will depend on the school. Most likely you'll still have to pay your tuition by a certain date. However, a lot of schools have payment plans that stude! nts can sign up for. I had to get a payment plan last semester so the school had extra time to process my fafsa as I made up my mind to transfer at the last second. Most payment plans at schools gives the students an extra 2 months or so and has about 2 payments so if your application is not done before the first date you'll only have to come up with a certain amount of your tuition and it would be done by the second date and a refund sent out shortly after that. There will be nothing wrong with going and talking to them though and seeing what can happen!...Show more
