What do liberals think of private corporations?

Dee Depung: In some instances liberals have attempted to control services and goods, through private business. Reducing free market standards is usually evidence of communism.

Nell Dipiero: In general I feel that any big corporations are not in the best interest of the public. But I'm very far left in the political spectrum, so some liberals will probably disagree with me.

Raul Tllo: I don't understand where this line comes from: "liberals hate business." Some liberals are skeptical of hardline pro-business ideology. Others own businesses and can be quite conservative in their views on economic policy. Some "liberal"-owned business like Starbucks and Ben and Jerry's and Google have some supposedly "liberal" policies and outlooks but also can be quite conservative and anti-labor and anti-freedom in some of their policies and actions. It just goes to show why words like "liberal" and "conservative" are mostly masks and do more to hide real views than show them...! .Show more

Marya Fehn: They give them corporate welfare an support the intrests of international companies through a tax and regulatory code too complex for small businesses to figure out

Lester Haschke: That they are less ethical, more efficient and more cost effective than Government Bureaucracy.Yea..... I know

Elva Batie: No, liberals don't think corporations should be illegal. In fact liberals own many corporations, including several you listed. There is nothing wrong with the corporate entity. The problem arises when corporations sacrifice everything in the name of the bottom line. Today, successful corporations serve the needs of their communities. They work to limit their environmental footprint. They give back to employees. For example, Guinness, Heineken and Sam Adams pulled their corporate sponsorship of the St. Patrick's Day parades in New York City and Boston over the events' policy of anti-LGBT discrimination....Show more

Raymundo Kyser: ! Those are all very different companies with very different MOs! and cultures. Only an idiot would ask people to make one blanket opinions on corporations that includes Exxon and Apple.

Edwina Fu: Corporations should be able to dictate what it's employees do with the money the corporation pays them

Lonnie Jehle: It depends on the private corporation of course. The question is not clear. Why would you ask liberals such a broad question? Some liberals have founded some of the largest corporations in the country. Many liberals are heavily invested in a variety of corporations. What are you trying to determine exactly?

Aldo Decurtis: No, they think they should be legal but not given free rein, with little or no regulations, to do whatever increases their profits regardless of the harmful impact to the economy, the taxpayers, their employees, the environment, and the consumers of their products or services.

Micah Schwarcz: Most liberals I know think corporations are evil. They do not seem to realize that businesses ! are the only one who can create jobs, either directly, by hiring people to create wealth, or indirectly, by paying taxes so the government can hire people who do not create wealth.

Whitney Saborido: I think they should be closely monitored, much like our Founding Fathers did.Free reign of corporations led to control of The British Crown, if we remember the original Tea Party.

Luke Gacusan: Libs are fine with corporations as long as they donate to obama or lib organizations.
