Im only 17 and i want to buy a car?

Dexter Dicostanzo: You cannot finance a car yourself..You have to be 18 y/o in order to enter into a contract..If you get it you will have to put it in an adults name.

Zelma Casebier: Are you involving your parents? I would guess not, so overall this sounds like a bad idea. Sorry to ruin the party, but this is the truth and I would guess you really know this also. 1. At 17 you should not be entering into a loan contract. 2. Do NOT engage in co-signer agreements, even if you think you are getting the benefit. They NEVER turn out good. 3. Can you afford insurance and repairs. 4. Based on this situation most dealers will fleece you like spring sheep. If you get a weak credit cosigner you will over pay for a junky car with a very high rate, then they will tack on fee on top of fee. So you will pay forever or default and have ruined credit for years. 5. Why not save up and pay cash? That way you can buy a car in a private sale, where usually you can get a much better ! deal....Show more

Gaylord Barragan: your best bet is to have a co-signer and they should have good credit. try going through your bank first because their interest rates are usually lower than if you get the loan through the dealership. Good luck!

Denna Prudente: get a job and buy car for $1000 something like I have 1995 Pontiac Grand AM by the way iam 17 and i payed cash and there only my name on the title, work save money u can wait a little longer and pay cashalso if you don't really trust your co-signer (and you shouldn't if you are) don't ask them cuz you a minor and that 18 or older cosigner might want your car which you will pay for, he/she can easily take it from you...Show more
