Launa Weingarten: Well a lot of people are interested in celebrities. Also if they are 'verified' people are excited about following them. Also if you follow similar people (eg other celebrities) they may come up as 'who to follow' suggestions. Also they are less likely to have time to go through and block any spam followers remember.
