Is there a cure for Graves disease?

Nona Lentini: For the most part, Graves' disease is not completely curable. However, it is treatable. This is so perhaps because of the fact that it is a particular type of autoimmune disease, much like rheumatoid arhritis or gout. The main treatment options for Graves' disease include anti-thyroid drugs, surgical removal of the thyroid, and radioactive iodine. Anti-thyroid drugs specifically block the action of thyroid hormone synthesis, and reduces its hyper-production (since this disease is one of the major causes of hyperthyroidism); surgery affords the removal of the thyroid itself, with basic premises that must be met first prior to actual removal of the thyroid, such as preoperative treatment with some anti-thyroid drugs; radioactive iodine is basically the use of another iodine isotope (essentially "radioactive"), perhaps involved in thyroid radiation. Each treatment options have their own advantages and disadvantages, although some treatment options are used first! until resorting to the final one (which is usually radioactive iodine--mainly due to the scare of the word "radioactive").Here's a link for more info:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graves-Basedow_diseas...For more treatment options, you can look at this site:http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/graves-disease/DS...Hope this helps!...Show more

Question about Planet Fitness?

Christiane Cattano: They do that to get you to sign up. Isn't it amazing how they ALL use the same hard sell technique??? You'd be better off buying a home-based fitness program and doing it with your friends than joining a plastic box.

Arlen Hamper: I have never seen a planet fitness with any of that, I am pretty sure none of them have punching bags. My fiance actually works for the planet fitness in my area, and I am pretty sure he mentioned to me that they don't have things like that.

Jefferson Sarson: The one I work out at doesn't have that either although I know they differ from location to location. I've been to a couple of different ones and I haven't seen anything like that, though.

whats the difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke?

Coleen Carignan: i always thought coke zero had no sugar in it and diet coke had no caffeine or vice versa

Lorelei Lilburn: Great question.....tryhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diet_cokeand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coke_zero

Valentine Michaud: Coke Zero actually tastes like Coca Cola while Diet Coke just tastes bad.

Granville Stray: Diet Coke has selected sweeteners including asparatame (which btw if use drink things with this in it for a long period of time, it can cause tumours) and Coke Zero has no sugars or sweeteners which is so boring and ps i think it tastes nasty!

Jonie Lauria: They have different sweetener additives

Marquetta Gimm: Diet Coke is sweetened with aspartame, and Coke Zero is sweetened with Splenda.

Chris Rosenkranz: I think it's that Diet Coke has aspartame, while Coke Zero has Splenda. Either one will or will not give you brain cancer (depending on the source), but I prefer Coke Zero over Diet Coke - personal pr! eference.

How long do I have to wait to get Dental Braces while entering the Airforce?

Bryan Avinger: The air force will NOT pay for Dental Braces unless you can prove to them that having crooked teeth affects your speech. My best friends husband (I am active duty as well as she is) just tried to get braces just on the top because he has a gap inbetween his front teeth that affects his confidence. They told him the only way they would pay for it would be if it affected his speech.

what do i do when my cat goes into labour? do i have to cut the umbilical cord?

what do i do when my cat goes into labour? do i have to cut the umbilical cord?

answers 0:this is the first time my cat is having kittens. do i need to cut the umbilical cord?can you give me any advice what to expect?>thanksanswers 1:no u do nothing its up to your cat....have blankets so your cat dont bleed all over your floor or sofa, when they get to a certain age where the mother no longer feeds them u will have to feed them on milk and porridge like i did 🙂answers 2:Your cat will work it, think about how they live in the wild, if anything goes wrong or labour takes long call a vetanswers 3:Only if she doesn't do it herself. She probably will handle the whole thing, but it's possible you might need to help if she is young and confused, or if one kitten comes out right after another, or if she gets exhausted. You should be prepared in case you DO have to do it. Have some dental floss and small scissors li! ke nail that have been sterilized in boiling water. You remove the kitten from the sac, tie off the cord close to the body, then cut on the side of the tie away from the body. also should have a suction bulb for babies, to suction liquid out of their nose and mouth. Here are a couple of links I recommend reading that give you the basics of what to expect , what is normal, what is not normal, how to help if needed, and when to call the vet / take her to the vet. http://www.fabcats.org/breeders/infosheets/breedin...http://www.cat-world.com.au/parturition-birth-in-c......answers 4:You should of had her at vets for a check up. They would of talked you through it all. Phone them to let them know that youv a cat due, invade of compliations they will be prepared. No you don't mum dose it, but you may need vet if anything goes wrong. They come put in a sack and if she doesn't clean it off their face you need to break it at mouth area so they can breathe. X andanswers 5:S! he will do all the work, but the link I am providing will educ! ate you on what she needs, and what to watch for.

Looking for a cancer alternative treatment?

Rayford Latz: The best treatment and her only chance of survival is to see her oncologist and see what other options there are for her. There are clinical studies she may be able to participate in.Don't go for the mumbo jumbo and put her life at risk. There is nothing one can eat, nothing that can be put on skin in any form that will cure of her cancer. Her only hope is using the traditional methods....Show more

Boyce Gilhooly: What the superior brain Andrew, obviosly is not aware of, is that with advanced breast cancer, surgery usually preceeds chemo and radiation, so a mastectomy has probably already been performed.Sorry but I have no suggestions beyond what her oncologist may suggest.Stay strong for your sister, I know how hard this can be....Show more

Cristopher Gavalis: Take a look a this "Regenerative Cellular Therapy": http://www.rctherapy.comThey have a new cellular therapy available using peptides.

Shawn Lelis: Breast cancers can start from d! ifferent parts of the breast. Most breast cancers begin in the ducts that carry milk to the nipple (ductal cancers). Some start in the glands that make breast milk (lobular cancers). In this type of cancer effective Homeopathic treatments are available, which give positive results....Show more

Joellen Zorrilla: I'm sorry to hear that.Like Tarkarri, I can't suggest anything other than what your sister's medical team recommend. All I want to do here is to caution you against anyone who answers telling you they know a sure-fire cure, whether it be diet, apricot seeds or whatever. While anything that makes her feel better and gives her hope is a good thing, bear in mind that in this context 'alternative; is just another word for 'unproven'. If an alternative medicine had been proven to work, it would no longer be 'alternative medicine'; it would just be 'medicine'.And because some of the alternatives people recommend can be dangerous, it might be as well to do a search on t! his site for some facts before trying any:http://www.quackwatc! h.org/My best wishes to your sister, and to you; I know how hard it is to watch someone you love go through this, and I've had breast cancer myself...Show more

Cedric Grimstead: Sorry to hear about your sister Eli. You will probably get responses for people suggesting some herbs and other stuff, I say most of them will be worthless, some might help. The problem is you'll never really know and waste money. I agree with lo_mcg to check out quackwatch.A lot of people associate 'alternative' with 'unproven', which is not necessarily right, it just means a different or new way. Many of todays treatments were considered once as alternative medicine. Mastectomy is an option of course if not done already, but there this cancer alternative treatment, which is in fact gene therapy for cancer. They do a combination treatment depending on status and type of cancer, including Biological Therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Injections of Gendicine (Gene Therapy Drug). Ge! ndicine is approved drug in China for treating all kinds of solid tumors and they have already treated several hundreds of patients successfully. Canadian friends of mine already went to China for the second time, because first of all they saw success after the first treatment and secondly they believe in Gene Therapy and the doctors in China more than their local doctors, just because they are more honest. You can get more info either here: http://www.cancer-alternative.org/gene-therapy-for... or this is the hospital in China, where they do that treatment: http://www.phoenixcancercentre.com/All the best and good luck to your sister....Show more

Leann Villalta: If chemo didn't fix her breast cancer situation the next (and obvious) step has to be to get a mastectomy. Prosthetic breasts are available and even if she can't afford them at least them come without the big CANCER tag.

Nilda Bafia: Go forward and supply her hemp oil and some thing else. But this is the ! foremost factor of all: spend as so much time together with her as huma! nly feasible or else you'll spend the leisure of your existence beating your self up for being out watching for a miracle remedy whilst your mom sat by myself in a clinic whilst you would had been maintaining the hand of your mother and reassuring her that the whole lot used to be going to be all right.
