The issue is that the jobs for humanities are limited to academia, museums and non-profit cultural or social organizations.Another thing you have to take into consideration is that a B.A. is not enough for a humanities or history degree (you mentioned you are going to continue studying, which is the right path). Usually an undergrad student has to learn a little bit of everything and then you can choose your own courses on the last year. With a masters degree you would choose your specialty and become good at one specific topic. This actually occurs to all majors, even for engineers. Arlen Decorte: Well job opportunities would be pretty limited (how many businesses or corprations would need a religion major?) and competition would be fierce. Check the opportunities you find 'tons' of, and see if an advanced degree is preferred or required (many university an! d museum jobs require PH.D minimum, at least for teaching positions).Degrees in the sciences, math or engineering are worth their weight in gold. Consider your interest in these fields if you want a good, well-paying job with minimal competition....Show more
